Welcome to a new sort of dyslexia website. The research contained in this site, aims to inform parents and educators to how dyslexia REALLY affects dyslexics, be it a child, teenager or adult.

You will be able to read abstracts of Neil Alexander-Passe's published research on dyslexia (his new book, peer-review journal papers and chapters in expert books on depression), and his current research projects.

THE NEW BOOK IS NEARLY OUT....

'Dyslexia and Depression and the Hidden Sorrow' is an exciting new book which investigates 29 dyslexic adults, 22 also had depression.

The book is based on in-depth interviews looking at the emotional cost of having dyslexic, resulting in some self-harming and attempting suicide, as a means to cope with feeling excluded.

CURRENT PROJECTS

(NEW Book Series) Dyslexia: An Academic Perspective
Peer-reviewed by contributors
Sole editor of a new series of books, the first ‘Dyslexia and Creativity’, submission due in 2009. I personally will be submitting two research chapters (one quantitative and one qualititative) and an editorial. Thirteen abstracts are approved. Contributors include professors; lecturers and researchers, from UK and US.

A second book ‘Dyslexia and Mental Health’ is at a planning stage.
